The Kinj Privacy Manifesto:
There is inherent risk in recording anything personal in any format. Once something is written it becomes both discoverable and traceable no matter where and how it is written. Recent corporate and personal scandals have made it infinitely clear that the internet only compounds this universally true rule.
Kinjunction seeks to carve out a private space for you and your family online
Bbut it can only do so within the bounds of the reality of the internet
The Kinj team promises to do our utmost to protect your privacy
We created this for our families and therefore have a strong mandate to keep the site as private as possible and not violate the trust of our uses/family members.
Our users need to promise to hold some discretion in mind when posting personal things
It is a sad reality that everyone must recognize the 1% possibility that what you privately post for your family will be exposed by an attack on the site.
On the negative side, Kinjunction will not:
1. Open up Kinjunction such that members of the site who are not members of your family can see your personal information and posts.
2. Use your personal information on an un-aggregated level.
We intend this to be a living document for the community
If you have suggestions of other privacy ideas you would like to see kinjunction adopt please let us know. We want to make everyone feel as safe as possible on the site, while still recognizing that try as we might, we cannot control users and privacy risk can at best be mitigated. We especially hope that NAW will help us evolve this.
